An Urgent Plea to American Nationalists: The US Must Stop Being the Divisive Nation by Cleaning Up Our Own Mess First
Richard Cook, the former US government analyst who blew the whistle on the real cause of the Challenger disaster, returns with another “long telegram” on the myriad crises looming in 2023—and what we can do about them. Cook will discuss this article on my live radio show this Friday, January 13, 8 to 9 pm Eastern on Revolution.Radio, later archived at my Substack. –Kevin Barrett, Veterans Today Editor
by Richard C. Cook
On December 19, 2022, Kevin Barrett published an article in Veterans Today on what he termed the three “Rogue Elephants” who are calling out the perpetrators within our Deep State and ruling class. These are Tucker Carlson, who has verified with a top official that the CIA killed President John F. Kennedy; Elon Musk, who has opened up Twitter to journalists who have shown that Twitter and other social media are controlled covertly by the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, the Defense and State Departments, and other national security agencies; and music artist Kanye West, about whom Kevin Barrett writes: “The issue of Jewish power, suppressed by Jewish power, is suddenly the topic of public conversation thanks to yet another rogue elephant, Kanye ‘Ye’ West. While…Elon Musk and Tucker Carlson are canny media barkers, Ye is something else entirely: a ‘Christian Carnival King and Truth-Telling Holy Fool.’”
We’ll get to the CIA’s assassination of JFK and to the Twitter files later in this article. For now, following on the Kanye West story, our attention is drawn to the fact that we can see in the political world that the allegiance of the Jewish Zionists, aka, the Neocons, is to the state of Israel as much or more as to the United States of America. It’s the Neocons who have a vice grip on US foreign policy, which today revolves around the US proxy war in Ukraine against Russia. Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, who launched a reign of terror against Ukraine’s Russian-speaking population, has outlawed all political parties but his own, banned a free press, and is eradicating the Christian religion. Zelensky is a puppet of the American Neocons and the Biden warmongers.
Zelensky’s stated aim is to make Ukraine a “Big Israel.” The objective of the Neocons is to use Ukraine to break Russia into pieces that can be dominated by their project of global conquest. The US military-industrial complex is to provide the weapons. The US Deep State provides the covert intelligence. As with Israel itself, Ukraine, the “Big Israel,” is to be propped up indefinitely by the US taxpayer. No need for speculation here. It is all happening right now. The Neocon-controlled administration of President Joe Biden is doing it. Congress in its recent lame duck session has approved. The irony is that Israel itself is pulling away from the Biden administration’s Ukraine project as Russian influence ascends in the Middle East.
We hear a lot of complaints these days about certain politicians being “divisive.” Maybe it’s time to realize that it’s the US itself, acting on a global scale, that has long been the divisive nation, not the “indispensable” one. It’s our own country that is the sower of chaos and discord. At a time when humanity desperately needs to come together, we Americans are the ones who destroy whole nations, who carry out illegal wars of aggression, who lie, cheat, and steal with impunity, as former CIA Director Michael Pompeo has bragged about publicly. For decades, we have been the ones who undermine peace, who assassinate the leaders of other countries, as well as our own leaders, who have placed economic sanctions on a third of humanity.
The Deep State itself, starting in earnest with the Reagan administration, has largely become a Neocon fortress. Exemplary in the descent into hubris was the Wolfowitz Doctrine, published in 1992 by the George H.W. Bush administration, thus providing a blueprint for US military world conquest. Its author was Paul Wolfowitz, a leading Neocon, then-deputy to Secretary of Defense Richard Cheney, and later deputy to Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld during the “War on Terror.”
The same message of total US military domination was carried forward by the Neocons’ Project for the New American Century in the late 1990s, envisioning “a future in which the United States is in complete control of land, sea, air, space and cyberspace of planet Earth.” This insane doctrine became the vanity and futility of military “Full Spectrum Dominance” in the early 2000s.
Behind the scenes, it’s been the FBI and CIA that have been engaged in divisive activities for decades —certainly since the end of World War II, when the CIA was set up, but even before then, with the predecessors to the FBI going back to the Palmer Raids after World War I, then to the arrival of J. Edgar Hoover as director in 1924. Until his retirement in 1972, an astounding forty-eight years later, J. Edgar Hoover’s main targets were domestic dissidents and civil rights leaders, with sidelines involving white collar crime and espionage. Today the main FBI targets are Donald Trump and anyone else on the political spectrum suspected of opposing Democratic Party/Deep State control. This is especially because, as Chris Hedges wrote recently, “The Democrats Are Now the War Party.” And the business of the Neocons is war.
But there is more to it than that. We also know that J. Edgar Hoover was closely in league with organized crime, which became a powerful force during Prohibition and never relaxed its grip. The leading US figure of organized crime in Hoover’s era was Mayer Lansky, one of the main US financiers of the founding of the state of Israel. Another element was the Bronfman family out of Canada, the bootleg kingpins. According to investigative reporter Whitney Webb, author of One Nation Under Blackmail, Hoover himself spent his career being blackmailed into passivity by the mob, which gradually grew into outlandish proportions.
President John F. Kennedy was poised to transform the US into a modern progressive state, a 1960s expansion of the New Deal. But, as Tucker Carlson confirmed, the CIA murdered him; I would add, with the collaboration of the FBI, the military, the Secret Service, organized crime, and likely Israel. The same cabal likely murdered his brother, Robert F. Kennedy, as well as the two leading African-American progressives of the era, Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The impact of these killings dominated the 1960s and cleared the way for the long era of wars of aggression, starting with Vietnam, that the US has been engaged in ever since. During the Reagan, Bush I, and Clinton presidencies, US military aggression merged with big global finance under players like Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan Chase, Citibank, etc., all financial partners of the military-industrial complex, all with connections to money-laundering syndicates, all making a living off global dollar hegemony.
Internationally, finance-centered globalism merged with the machinations of the Bilderberg Group and the World Economic Forum, along with actors from the money-laundering banking centers of Europe, especially the City of London, with its vast network of offshore tax havens. All this coincided with the decisions made by President Bill Clinton and his Neocon Secretary of State Madeleine Albright to begin pushing the borders of NATO eastward toward Russia, despite promises made in the 1980s to respect Russia’s security after the last president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev, agreed to the reunification of Germany.
When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, US financiers flocked to join with lawless Russian oligarchs to loot Russia of the assets of its state-owned industries and transfer the profits to Western banks. Clinton then moved to admit Poland, the Czech Republic, and Hungary into NATO in 1999. The expansion of NATO continued under subsequent presidential administrations, with each new member, including Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and several Balkan nations, being drawn into the matrix of US weaponization and financialization. Ukraine and Georgia were targeted for admission next, despite warnings from all responsible parties, including veteran diplomats George Kennan, Jack Matlock, and William Burns, that the admission of Ukraine in particular would violate all Russia’s red lines and possibly lead to war.
But it’s really been since the 9/11 false flag under Bush II and Cheney that the US has become what can justifiably be called the chief divider of humanity. The ideological excuses have been invented by the Neocons who began their takeover of the Deep State under President Reagan, when they perpetrated the Iran-Contra affair, and who have never let go. This has allowed the subversion of US foreign policy to serve not only the US war machine, but also to blend seamlessly with the desire of Israel to attain hegemony in the Middle East through the US assaults on Afghanistan and Iraq and later Libya and Syria.
Let me be clear. The foreign policy of the United States of America, a country established by a generation of nationalist patriots more than two hundred years ago, is today dominated by a relatively small clique consisting largely of second-or-third generation Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe whose forebears settled in New York City, obtained degrees at Ivy League universities—mainly Harvard, Yale, and Columbia—and, funded by shadowy sources, including the CIA, seized control of the levers of power.
But have any of them ever built a cabinet with their own hands, grown potatoes, hiked on the Appalachian Trail, attended a Native American pow-wow, prayed quietly in a country church, volunteered at a shelter, sung African-American spirituals, repaired a pick-up truck, worked in a factory, or otherwise gained a living sense of the depth of soul and human diversity of our great nation? I doubt it. This is part of why I question whether the Neocons have a full appreciation of the American spirit, or whether they just want to use America for their own purposes.
Thus the Neocons have driven our nation into two generations of disastrous wars aimed to benefit the military-industrial complex, Israel, and themselves by demonizing and trying to destroy the nation they hate the most; namely, Russia. Figures like Zbigniew Brzezinski, John Bolton, Hillary Clinton, and Michael Pompeo have enabled them. The Neocons’ apparent goal is world conquest, with China next in line for ruin. In the process, our supposed allies among the nations of the European Union, especially Germany, are being degraded economically by anti-Russian sanctions.
The US military class has been thoroughly indoctrinated into believing, as expressed recently by a retired lieutenant colonel on Fox News, that China, Russia, and Iran are all committed to “our demise.” Such paranoia is bound to generate a permanent predilection toward war, urged on by the waves of gratification from the chicken-hawks who send our troops and those of our “allies” to fight. As Henry Kissinger said in front of Alexander Haig in 1973, “Military men are dumb, stupid animals to be used.” (Woodward & Bernstein, The Final Days) The Neocons have mastered the art creating the propaganda that will allow them to use “our troops” for their own purposes.
The Neocons and their political partners, particularly within the Democratic Party, have made the US into a divisive state—not only toward other nations, but increasingly toward our own population, through the Patriot Act, total electronic surveillance, media subversion, and their phony cultural “wokeism.” Now it’s the unlikely trio of Tucker Carlson, Elon Musk, and Kanye West who have moved the discussion to the front burner.
I’d like to comment further on several major examples of US state-sponsored divisiveness that are going on even as we speak:
Kennedy Assassination
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., has called Tucker Carlson’s broadcast, “The most courageous newscast in 60 years. The CIA’s murder of my uncle was a successful coup d’état from which our democracy has never recovered.”
The Biden administration has refused to release all the documents held by the CIA pertinent to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, as Congress has required, possibly an impeachable offense. I would also like to see what must be extensive CIA and FBI files on the assassinations of Malcolm X, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Robert Kennedy, as well as on the likely assassinations of John Lennon, JFK, Jr., Senator Paul Wellstone, journalist Gary Webb, and others, plus the assassinations of foreign heads of state and journalists.
Included in this disclosure should be documents pertaining to CIA support of death squads being operated today within Ukraine by the Zelensky regime and to White House-approved CIA sabotage teams operating inside Russia. Such assassinations are part of the American SOP, as President Donald Trump showed with the US drone killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani on January 3, 2020, at the Baghdad International Airport.
“Twittergate”
“Twittergate” is showing the massive infiltration and control of social media by the FBI, the CIA, the State Department, the Department of Homeland Security, the Defense Department, and other security agencies, including the cover-up of FBI suppression of the Hunter Biden story in the weeks before the 2020 presidential election. I think we can fairly say that Joe Biden would not be president today without these Deep State manipulations. To this can be added the false “Russiagate” narrative and the attacks on the Trump presidency carried out by the FBI in collusion with Hillary Clinton, Congressman Adam Schiff, and the Democratic National Committee. According to Matt Taibbi, leading the charge in Congress to tar social media with false allegations of Russian influence in the 2016 election was Senator Mark Warner of Virginia. Twitter and Facebook were blamed, along with Russia, all without evidence, for Trump’s defeat of Hillary Clinton, who continues to claim she was “robbed.”
The government, particularly the State Department when it was being run by Trump’s Secretary of State Michael Pompeo, has also used its influence over social media to mute critics and promote the falsified official narrative about US policy in Ukraine. To this can be added suppression of voices on social media that have questioned the government’s narrative on the Covid pandemic. Part of this narrative was the campaign to blame China for the pandemic.
According to journalist Lee Smith, writing in Tablet Magazine, the government’s takeover of social media began under President Barack Obama, who “stamped the US government’s seal of approval on Russiagate.” This became the cornerstone of a broader campaign of “infiltrating social media platforms to fix a presidential race” in 2020, whereby these media have effectively been “assimilated into the intelligence services.” Smith writes that coordinating the program has been Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, along with four private sector entities that are part of the Election Integrity Partnership that have received grants from the Biden administration “to study ways to apply collaborative, rapid-response research to mitigate online disinformation”: the Stanford Internet Observatory, the University of Washington, the Atlantic Council, and Graphika, a D.C. based private company.
Even with “Twittergate” looming this covert structure was there to influence the 2022 mid-term elections, where Republican congressional candidates vastly underperformed, and will be there to manage the 2024 presidential election, where a senile Joe Biden already promises to run and Trump is being ridiculed for his own aspirations to return to the White House.
One thing is certain: when Trump shocked the world by defeating Hillary Clinton in 2016, the Deep State launched a vast covert campaign to remove him from office, if possible, and, if not, to be sure he would never return. Why? Probably because Trump, for all his flaws, would never wage the Neocons’ war for world conquest. He even seemed prepared to pull the US out of NATO.
War in Ukraine
We need to stop the war the Neocons are directing in Ukraine, which came about through the Obama/Biden 2014 overthrow of the elected Ukrainian government by the combined efforts of the CIA, the National Endowment for Democracy, George Soros, Victoria Nuland and the State Department, cadres of Ukrainian Neonazis, and unidentified terrorists who shot protesters in the streets of Kiev. This was followed by the US-approved sabotage of the 2015 Minsk agreement by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and by the provocations intended to draw Russia into the shooting war that is going on now.
This war could have ended last spring had the US and Britain not ordered Zelensky to continue the fighting and had the US not been supplying Ukraine with over $100 billion in weapons to engage in a proxy war to weaken Russia. Part of this proxy war has been the large number of premeditated and illegal economic sanctions against Russia, illegal in that they lack the approval of the UN Security Council as required under international law. The main effect of these sanctions, along with the likely US/UK act of sabotage in blowing up Nordstream I and II, has been to launch the ongoing economic decline of Europe.
Syria
Mention should also be made of the war in Syria that the US and its allies and proxies, including Turkey, launched in 2011 under President Barack Obama as part of the “War on Terror.” Syria was on the same Neocon hit-list as Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Somalia, and Iran and would have been subject to US bombing, similar to Serbia, Iraq, and Libya, had Russia not intervened to put a stop to Obama’s bombing plan in 2015.
Israel continues to attack Damascus, and US troops on the ground continue to steal Syria’s oil, even as the US provides financial support to terrorists. Fortunately, Turkey, Syria, and Russia are now holding talks that we can hope will result in a genuine peace settlement. Peace in Syria will be an important step to stop ongoing US aggression in the Middle East, though Iran is still in the crosshairs.
Iran
The US has initiated a new hybrid/proxy war against Iran. Declaring the JCPOA nuclear deal “dead,” the Biden administration is using the Kurdish people as proxy forces within the boundaries of Iran and in Syria, Iraq, and Turkey as well. The CIA has also launched a “color revolution” to seek regime change in Iran to negate Iran’s support of Russia in the Ukraine conflict and to combat Iran’s intention to ally with BRICS+. Iran has also been on the Neocon hit-list going back to Iran’s Islamic Revolution of 1979.
It is time for the US to seek genuine peace in the Middle East, not only with Iran but between Israel and the Palestinians. The world of Islam should be our friends and partners, not our enemies.
Covid
Another act of division is the Covid pandemic that some have alleged has been caused by an engineered virus created through “gain-of-function” research. Expert testimony before the US Senate has stated that there is no civilian use for gain-of-function experiments. Ron Unz of the Unz Review has written that the presence of Covid in China was known to the Defense Intelligence Agency even before it began to be identified among the Chinese population in late 2019.
The pandemic may also have been another element in the Deep State plot to disrupt Trump’s presidency. Now we have word that the FDA has warned that the unproven Pfizer vaccine may be unsafe, even as vaccinations are still being mandated in places and with a CDC panel recommending that it be administered to young children in an appalling act of dereliction. The vaccines are authorized for emergency use only and have never been tested and approved as safe and effective. Quality control for purity and consistency of the vaccine is alleged to be inadequate.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is trying to convene a state-level grand jury to probe criminality by Pfizer in concealing information about adverse effects. As shown by Redacted, indications are that for unknown reasons the Pentagon was in charge of planning for the Covid pandemic, possibly starting as early as 2013, and that another pandemic may be in the planning stages.
Meanwhile, the Pentagon has ringed the globe with top secret bioweapons laboratories, making the US the only nation actively pursuing advanced research in biological warfare. Does the United Nations even exist anymore to allow this kind of dangerous research to go on?
Biowarfare “that can target specific genotypes” was one of the insane objectives of the Neocons’ Project for a New American Century and was apparently in process in the Pentagon’s Ukraine biolabs discovered by the Russian invasion. Making the Covid pandemic worse has been the stranglehold over doctors and medicine by Big Pharma, a situation exacerbated by the absence of a single-payer national health care system. The US remains the only developed nation without such a system. Obama’s Affordable Care Act was no substitute.
Immigration
Another instance of US state-sponsored divisiveness is the destruction of a secure southern US border with Mexico and the illegal entry of millions of immigrants, with the likely purpose of adding to the Democratic Party’s voter rolls. Vice President Kamala Harris declared the southern border the new Statue of Liberty.
One of the effects of the open border policy has been to invite the increasing presence of drug gangs that fuel the ongoing fentanyl epidemic. I traveled to Montana this year, and the local press is full of stories about drug activity. This includes arrests and convictions of men with Mexican names caught with large caches of meth, heroin, and fentanyl, armed with handguns, and carrying quantities of cash. Local police and prosecutors know exactly where all this is coming from—Mexico.
It’s outrageous and likely impeachable that Biden can lavish over a billion dollars on the Zelensky regime, while law and order, along with sane and civilized values, go to hell under the Biden open border/“woke” regime.
Federal Reserve
Another instance of state-sponsored divisiveness is the entire US financial system under the control of the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve is currently plunging the economy into a recession to compensate for its zero-interest-rate policies following the massive bank bailouts of 2008-2009. Countless lives will be lost or ruined through bankruptcies, foreclosures, under- or unemployment, etc., but nothing will be done about it, because this is the system we live under and that exists for the benefit of the “one-percent” and the billionaire financier oligarchs.
Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve facilitates speculative bank lending to support and increase the size of the vast and out-of-control derivatives markets that have contributed to ruining the producing economy. These are markets that even investor Warren Buffet has called “weapons of financial mass destruction.” The standard practice of the Federal Reserve is to create and then destroy asset bubbles that allow trillions of dollars to be skimmed by tax avoiders.
Dennis Kucinich had a solution for all this with his National Emergency Employment Defense (NEED) Act of 2011, which would have abolished the Federal Reserve and implemented a new system of government-sponsored Greenback monetary policy managed by the US Treasury. But the media ignored Kucinich’s proposal and the congressional controllers gerrymandered him out of Congress. With the enactment of the NEED Act, which is now part of the Green Party platform, the US could institute a regular citizens dividend and launch the long-neglected upgrade of our national infrastructure.
Note too that the real reason for the Federal Reserve’s hikes in interest rates is not to “fight inflation,” but to make US government securities an attractive haven for capital flight from Europe, Asia, and especially Japan, and thereby prop up the collapsing US dollar. It’s US dollar hegemony that has financed the massive US trade and budget deficits which the government uses to pay for the world’s largest military machine and its global network of bases overseen by a bloated officer class and their attendant bureaucracies.
Moreover, by purchasing US government securities through so-called open market operations, the Federal Reserve can finance an infinite expansion of government debt to pay for growth in military expenditures, even bypassing the sale of bonds to foreigners, which is why conservative Republican proposals to enforce a debt ceiling is anathema to the warmongers.
Sanctions
Then there are the sanctions. In a January 2, 2023, article in Covert Action Magazine, entitled “US Spreads Misery Across the Globe Imposing Sanctions on a Third of Humanity,” Jeremy Kuzmarov documents decades of devastating US sanctions against China, North Korea, Venezuela, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Zaire, Zimbabwe, Syria, Libya, and now, of course, Russia. Sanctions are acts of economic warfare, usually imposed unilaterally without congressional participation or approval.
Often sanctions involve outright theft through the seizure of assets of targeted countries held in Western banks. For instance, “The Bank of England blocked Venezuela’s attempt to retrieve $1.2 billion worth of gold, while the US froze all assets of Venezuela’s state-owned oil company, Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) in the US.”… “In Afghanistan, after the humiliating U.S. withdrawal and Taliban takeover, the Biden administration blocked Afghanistan’s central bank from accessing roughly $7 billion in its foreign reserves held in the U.S., resulting in the virtual collapse of the country’s economy”.… “On February 28, 2022, the U.S. Treasury also froze Russia’s foreign currency assets—seizing $500 billion in Russian funds held in U.S. and other Western banks in another criminal theft.”
According to researcher Sara Flounders, “U.S. government strategists are using sanctions as a wrecking ball to demolish the globalized economy. It is a desperate struggle to preserve their global hegemony and a unipolar world. The policy of consciously demolishing supply chains of essential products amounts to a reckless war on defenseless civilian populations. Sanctions disrupt trade worldwide and send shockwaves far beyond the countries directly impacted, [which is] well understood by financial planners.”
Media Abuse
Another abuse is infiltration of the mainstream media, the publishing industry, social media and internet sites like Wikipedia by government intelligence under what was called Operation Mockingbird that began in earnest in the 1960s and is even more powerful today, as the opening of the Twitter files has shown. The mainstream media, consisting of the press, broadcast media, and social media are a controlled instrument of the Deep State, including military intelligence, in creating anti-Russian hysteria and pro-war theming to justify their proxy war in Ukraine and endless wars elsewhere.
In fact, creating such narratives in the controlled media is at the centerpiece of official wartime strategy as promulgated in military manuals. The entire world population is subject to the barrage of insidious subconscious mind-pollution and mind-control that results. “Artificial intelligence” is created and used to secrete the constant drip of psychological poison that keeps whole populations mentally captive.
Speaking again of Twitter, Lee Fang of The Intercept has explained how “the social networking giant provided direct approval and internal protection to the US military’s network of social media accounts and online personas….The Pentagon has used this network, which includes US government-generated news portals and memes, in an effort to shape opinion in Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Kuwait, and beyond.” This has involved, for example, spreading the lie that Iran has been “threatening Iraq’s water security and flooding the country with crystal meth.”
Climate Change
I agree with those who have identified the climate change controversy as an excuse for globalist oligarchs to get rich off so-called Green Energy investments. Reputable climate scientists have said that climate variation is part of naturally-occurring cycles at a time when we are still coming out of the Little Ice Age. They have also stated that adding carbon dioxide to the atmosphere enhances plant growth.
Panic over climate change plays into the Malthusian animus against “overpopulation” that overflows into tolerance or even promotion of war, famine, and pandemics. The ideas put forth by Thomas Malthus in his 1799 Essay on Population are eerily consonant with the stance taken the World Economic Forum. Malthus wrote: “We should facilitate, instead of foolishly and vainly endeavoring to impede, the operations of nature in producing…mortality; and if we dread the too frequent visitation of the horrid form of famine, we should seditiously encourage the other forms of destruction which we compel nature to use. In our towns we should make the streets narrower, crowd more people into the houses, and court the return of the plague.”
Electoral Abuse
Everyone knows that the US electoral system is the most corrupt on the planet. Politicians at every level, but especially members of Congress, owe their primary loyalty to their campaign donors, not the people who elected them to office and whom they supposedly represent. Often Congress passes legislation made up of thousands of pages of lobbyist-written fine-print that office-holders don’t even read. The corruption has been facilitated by the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision and by laws allowing for unlimited donations to political parties by hidden, or “dark,” sources.
These practices allow for unlimited influence over legislation by huge military contractors, by organized crime, by billionaire investors, or by partisans like the late Sheldon Adelson, the gambling kingpin. It’s no wonder that only about half of those registered even bother to vote. Thus an elected president only receives about fifteen percent of the potential approval of voting-age citizens.
This is not “democracy”; rather it is a world-class scandal. Election reform is urgently needed, including publicly-subsidized campaign financing, strict limitations and transparency with regard to private campaign contributions, free and equal access to the media, and a hands-off policy by government agencies and the Deep State. We also need a national system of paper ballots and hand-counting of votes.
US Military
I would not let the US military off the hook. Besides their endless post-Cold War conflicts of futility (Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Ukraine, etc.), overseen by an over-abundance of active and retired four-star generals, and with trillions of dollars already down the drain, the US military preens itself by leaning heavily on Hollywood film making, so that images of war and violence are a constant media presence, with the over-stretched US military always being shown in a glamorous light.
The US military is also notoriously known as the top global polluter. Maybe the military needs to figure out that their first job is to protect the US Constitution, which has been savaged above all from within by the multi-pronged assault herein described. They could start by stationing the National Guard on the border with Mexico, as Florida is already doing with its surrounding waterways, and enforcing a zero-tolerance policy against illegal migrant entry and narcotics transit.
A book I would recommend is Douglas Valentine’s, The CIA as Organized Crime. Valentine focuses particularly on the CIA-controlled drug trade that began originally in Southeast Asia at the time of the Vietnam War. Later this trade expanded to Central and South America and then to Afghanistan. Valentine writes that the CIA has hampered legitimate drug interdiction efforts and oversees a worldwide drug empire that brings in $300 billion a year.
I would also recommend the aforementioned One Nation Under Blackmail in two volumes by Whitney Webb, who argues convincingly that the US today is run by syndicates that are in fact organized crime. Another valuable resource is Nomi Prins’ All the Presidents’ Bankers, especially her account of how President Obama bailed out the failed financial industry to the ruin of the working and middle class.
Everything discussed in this article, taken together, constitutes a national disaster, an infection or cancer, that is destroying our country. President Joe Biden has never seen a US war of aggression or an enrichment of big banking interests that he didn’t support. That’s why ex-president Barack Obama and the DNC got Rep. Jim Clyburn of South Carolina to endorse Biden and pressured Amy Klobuchar and Pete Buttigieg to drop out of the Democratic primary the weekend before Super Tuesday, in order to subvert Bernie Sanders’ campaign and make Biden their presidential candidate in 2020. The rest, I’m sorry to say, is history.
I know there are individuals within the US establishment who understand what I am saying and have the ability to take action. I say to them: you must do so without further delay. Start with an impeachment of Biden and a thorough investigation of the crimes of the Democratic Party over the last decade to balance their vendetta against Trump. Next, stop the Ukraine War and disassociate from Zelensky and his Neonazi regime. Then, purge the US government of the Neocon gang and all its influences. After this, replace the Federal Reserve with a Greenback-based monetary system that reflects loyalty to our country along the lines of the Kucinich NEED Act. Only through fundamental monetary reform can we pay our debts and renew our manufacturing economy. Otherwise, the Federal Reserve is a slush fund that rewards billionaires. Under Obama’s bank bail-out, the government and the Federal Reserve provided over $19 trillion in support to banks that were “too big to fail.”
To do all this, we need to unite our divisions and return to a system of governance that respects ordinary people. We need to return to our roots of liberty, tolerance, and goodness. We need to rediscover the values of our great religions, our multitude of ethnicities, and the sanctity of married and family life. We need to regain the spirit of innovation and hard work that once made us the world’s leading industrial nation. We need to re-learn respect toward other countries and ethnicities as well, and join in partnership with Europe, Russia, China, India, Iran, Brazil, and the rest of the world, not as an antagonist and exploiter, but as a partner, as envisioned by the UN Charter and by JFK in his Alliance for Progress.
Above all, compassion and the spirit of unity must replace the urge toward division and hate, with every individual seen worthy of respect, including those of us labeled by Hillary Clinton as “deplorables.”
One important figure who is sounding a call to sanity is retired Colonel Douglas McGregor, whose commentaries are a benchmark of realism in the face of today’s crisis. He writes in his understated way:
In the last 30 years, Washington’s overemphasis on military assistance and intervention in the pursuit of regime change has drawn the U.S. into conflicts and crises in the Balkans, the Near East, North Africa, and Southwest Asia. American nationalists are not responsible for the current war in Ukraine or the last three decades of Washington’s self-defeating wars. But American nationalists are needed now more than ever to stop the globalist war to destroy Russia before that war spreads like a cancer across Eastern Europe.
Col. McGregor’s statement is reminiscent of what Marine Major General Smedley Butler, the most decorated soldier of his generation, wrote in his 1935 book, War is a Racket.” He wrote:
I helped make Mexico…safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street….I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-12. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested.
Butler continued:
War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are measured in dollars and the losses in lives. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small “inside” group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes.
Major General Smedley Butler was right. Even as the US stock market fell into bear territory in 2022, with a 17 percent overall decline, the armaments industry made out like bandits with the massive expenditures on military aid to Ukraine. Leaders in growth were the stockholders of Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, and Raytheon whose fortunes have skyrocketed, while over 100,000 Ukrainians soldiers died last year. US-led sanctions against Russian energy supplies caused soaring worldwide energy prices that also resulted in massive windfalls to energy companies, with Occidental Petroleum leading the way as among the most profitable of US businesses.
No doubt about it—war is a racket. The grift includes everyone in the US Congress whose campaign coffers are filled with donations from the military-industrial complex. Leading the way in Ukraine-related grift has been the Biden family.
