This video packs singular importance. It is easily one one of the most cogent wide-ranging discussions of the various political currents shaping the direction of the US empire as it enters a turbulent period of rapid (and perhaps final) decline. Garland and Dr Monteiro concur that the political confusion abetted by the treacherous Democratic MICIMATT and its phony leftism ("WOKE imperialism") is a major obstacle in the struggle to form a united antiwar front of diverse ideologies —socialists, libertarians, communists, etc.— to fight the main enemy of humanity, global hegemonic imperialism. They correctly suggest that "Woke" is but a shield, a mask, for corporate imperialist business as usual, and that "Wokism" at home,, as evidenced by the calamitous LGBQT-dominated administration of San Francisco, is nothing but the rule of mostly comfortable upper strata. Indeed, the plague of incurable dysfunction, despair, and homelessness we see in San Francisco and all other major cities in the US; the dilapidated national infrastructure, and the scandalous degradation of the environment, is proof that class—in this case oligarchic, or rather plutocratic interests, and their Neocon/Neoliberal ideology—drives the national, state and city agendas. The masses, despite their confusion, are starting to realize that the duopoly is a waste of time, a grand fraud, and perhaps, with the ballooning specter of nuclear war recklessly pushed by the duopolist cliques led by the Democrats, much worse, even a major threat to their very lives. Their increasing lack of enthusiasm for regular political contests is now an undeniable trend. In 2016, their hostility and contempt for the establishment parties and most mainstream media fueled the election of the "improbable candidate", billionaire Donald Trump, basically an outsider to the regular Deep State machinations and cliques, and whose unpredictability, and wildly successful brand of rightwing populism, quickly elicited the most gigantic, unrelenting and cynical demonization in US history—"Russiagate"—, a dangerous and dishonest witch-hunt that, in the name of fighting a putative Trumpian fascism, not to mention some treasonous nebulous collusion with foreign powers, continues to this day under multiple pretexts. Garland and Tony conclude that only a new type of US politics, hopefully a multi-current united front, a formation resolutely non-imperialist, can heal the nation, build genuine democracy, and insure a lasting and just peace at home and abroad.
